Yum! So glad we went here. I love sushi, but finding a great sushi place for an inexpensive price isn't an easy thing to find. The sushi is so fresh and delicious. The lunch atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. Dinner can be quite loud and prices are very expensive. I'd recommend coming for lunch and enjoy 3/4 different sushi rolls.

Not going back ... there is way better ... I really prefer hiros sauces ... the quality of steak was not great. Server kept scrapping the grill ... I get that he needs to clean it but when the scrapings end up in the rest of the food its nasty. Very young chef. My husbands was ok, he ate it but again not our favorite they are kind of crazy when it comes to how much food you are served ... soup - meh, salad was tasty, rice good some crispy pieces through it hard to get past it, vegetables very fresh they were great, noodles under seasoned, potatoes? burnt, steak meh and honey had shrimp too ... it was ok ... not great. No desire to even go back - the staff was fabulous, place was clean - washrooms nice that's why they get a 3.

A group of us from work came here to say goodbye to me and celebrate my new job that I'm going to in Providence, RI. When I first walked in I was kind of shocked by a weird smell, but it soon went away and we were sat at a Teppanyaki table and awaited our waitress and chef. They have a great lunch special here...for only $9.95 you can get beef, veggies and fried rice (no noodles during lunch and mushrooms are an extra charge), but for that price, I'm not complaining. The chef put on a show and did the normal stuff, so that was fun. I got the beef/chix combo and thought the beef was a bit overcooked, but the chix was delicious and so were the veggies and rice. We had a great time and thanked everyone for coming. Don't know if I'll be back, much closer to my old job than to home.

I am a big fan of hibachi dinners and have been to many restaurants that serve meals this way. The prices were a little lower than expected but the food was just ok. The sauces and noodles were bland. The veggies were undercooked. However, the NY strip was excellent!. Also, they will charge for sharing food so be careful. Nice atmosphere and good service :)

When my party of 3 arrived we were told the wait time was 25 min. We waited over an hour and was then told we would have to again wait for anyone that arrived with reservations. I had to complain to get a seat. The people arriving that had reservations were being told they had to wait another 25 min. They were not happy. When we finally got seated, the other party that was seated at our table was missing a person. That person showed up 10 min later delaying my dinner service. The food portions were smaller than any other Japanese steakhouse I've ever been to. The shrimp was gritty with sand. Our chef did not season the food it was very bland. Drove all the way from Sarasota to get disappointed. I do not recommend this place.

Been here twice in the last month. Definitely worth going, and a lesser known secret is to eat at one of the booth's in the bar. You don't get the show of eating at one of the cooking tables, but the food is he same, and you have privacy, if you are a smaller party. Good food. Good service. Place was crowded last night (Friday, 6/26) when we went. It was less crowded earlier in the month when we went, but we were very early that day.

My food was extremely salty to a point where I took no more than 3 bites and called it quits. Luckily my child's portion was okay. I notified the waitress and the management but they did nothing to make up for my unsatisfying experience. I believe this was my last visit to this place. Would not recommend this place at all.

This is a sushi review. By some absurd karmic divine mess, I have never been here despite working near it for the last three years. I decided to check it out finally, and I am so glad I did. Between the 3 of us, we sampled 6 rolls and LOVED all of them. The spider roll here is fat and beautiful and legit. Their kamikaze roll basically changed my life. Their volcano roll was pretty much made of angel tears. So essentially, this place is a win. Added to that our waitress was super attentive. The interior is nice as well. What I'm trying to say here is that I will so be back.

How did I get here? What in my right mind would make me want to eat at Tsunami? A dark and dank place, covered in Wild West upholstery in the Tyrone Mall area of Da Pete. While sitting in a saddle covered booth, next to one lone and overworked sushi "chef", aloof servers, water from the deepest sulfurous well, chewing on mayo covered salmon, my rolls falling apart (disintegrating wet rice) before my eyes, and cheap meat burning on teppanyaki flames around me--- I was seriously wondering the same thing. I will continue the pilgrimage to find decent sushi in Tampa Bay, even if that means that I have to brave battlegrounds of Japanese Steakhouses like Tsunami. The goods news is: I don't have to return, ever.

Plenty of dinner with an entertaining chef! We called ahead for reservations and on arrival had to wait 15 minutes for a teppanyaki table. Our party of three sat with a party- a birthday party- of six. You just never know with whom you will sit. I ordered the chicken and sirloin for dinner, along with a mexican roll. The sushi was fine, not the best I have ever had, but certainly not the worst. Our hibachi show was the highlight of the evening and with a small child at the table requesting "fire!", we had more than five flame ups. The chicken was delicious but the sirloin was rubbery. A plethora of leftovers to take home.

Been coming here for years. We always have the Sushi is always good and meals are always tasty. We really enjoy some of the experienced cooks. Could be a bit cleaner. My elbows were sticking to table this time and menus need to be wiped down. I really can not "say" anything was terrible here. Staff always polite. Never have to wait long. But, we always make reservations. Great place for a birthday or large gathering. Prices are very reasonable for all the food served.

As far as the hibachi grill goes, I think the taste of the food varies (depending on who your cook is). Sometimes you get really great food, other times....not so much. I only had the sushi once , and it wasn't spectacular but it was good enough. You get plenty of food to take home, but it's not even good the next day. If you want a show, go for it. Good food? It's a gamble.

    (2)
  • Mailoha A.

This was my first time here. I posted pictures of everything that I had. The hibachi was good but the rolls were just okay, nothing special. We had 2 hibachis (scallop and shrimp) and the steak one. We also ordered 3 rolls - volcano and 2 others (can't remember the names).

  • Robbie C.

We came for lunch time with several of hubsters coworkers. As it was a bit early for lunchtime (11:30am) we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The usual show by the Japanese chef with the flaming onion etc. The hibachi selections were beef, chicken or shrimp. Pretty good deal at lunch time for $9.95. This comes with miso soup-so so. Salad-good, veggies, rice and whichever protein you pick. My shrimp was perfect and lunch was a success.

    (4)
  • Windy C.

Hostesses at the door were not overly friendly upon arrival, so not a great first impression. Our chef and waitress were kind, humorous in presentation (as you would expect in Hibachi style) and food was fresh and abundant. Lots of leftovers. We will return.

  • Amy B.

This is definitely the worst Hibachi I've ever been to. My last review was a 2 and I decided to go back and try it but seriously NOT GOOD!. The quality of the meat is terrible, steak is chewy gross ness and the chicken is blah, almost not edible and i think mine wasn't cooked completely. They cook everything super slow and one at a time so half your meal is either going to be cold or you'll be full by the time you get the other half of your meal and the service is meh too! If they didn't have the free birthday meal thing going for them, i'd have to say they'd be going out of business based on the quality of the food and service. Their prices are also insanely expensive compared to others i've been to. Brandon didn't even finish his steak it was so terrible, when a man doesn't finish steak, you know it's bad! Definitely won't be back again, so many other better options in the area for hibachi.

  • Withheld N.

I can't believe Amy B. complaining in this section. She has a picture of a beautiful birthday plate made by this restaurant, she posts it here, then says horrible things about the place. What a beeach.

  • Jerry H.

Very good meal, the best of three visits. I had the filet mignon, shrimp and chicken hibachi combo and all three were cooked just right. I did request that the cook go easy on the salt, which improved the flavor from the times before. The only improvements I would suggest would be much less salt in the very salty clear soup and to fully cook the fried rice. Overall, it was a very good meal.

Went for bday dinner tonight. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive. The cook showed us a great show and had the kids laughing. Would definately go back when we visit st.pete again.

Here with the family tonight. Normally this is one of my favorite sushi spots, but our waitress was horrible. When we first walked in she was hovering for tables, however, once we sat down she must have forgotten she had a table. She took a long time to bring my drink, but once it was gone did not ask me if I wanted another. On the other hand, when DMD's drink was empty it was refilled before it was empty. Classic!! Little did she know she was trying to impress the wrong person!!! I was picking up the tab tonight!! I always leave at least 20%, not tonight!! So disappointed Tsunami. I will head down town the next time we want sushi.

I really enjoy going here for a special occasion. It's like most Japanese grills where you sit around a table with a hibachi grill with potentially other parties. The chef comes out and entertains while he cooks your dinner. Sometimes having additional folks at your table can be really entertaining - sometimes it can be awkward. But the food is always good and I always have lots of leftovers. It's not a place you'd want to go everyday but it's perfect for a special occasion.

  • Nina M.

I've been here a few times and tried both the hibachi and sushi. Both were made fairly well and no complaints on the food. Table service has always been good, too. My review would be higher, only my friends and I had a poor experience when we came here for a birthday dinner. We called ahead and when we got to the location, we're told it would be a 45 minute wait. We understood. Over an hour goes by and still no table. When we finally did get seated, we ended up getting separated. Maybe it was just the busy night for them, but I thought that situation could have gone better. With regard to price, it's okay for hibachi, but a little high for sushi and other items on the menu. It's a cool place to check out, but my opinion is that there are better similar places in the area.

Soup/Salad were pretty good. It's a clear broth soup which is supposed to be lite. The salad dressing was nice. Fried Rice - bland, noodles - bland Steak/ scallop - nicely cooked. Sushi menu boring and hard to read - it is the slip of paper for 8 of us to share. Sushi itself was very good. My drink was good. The price was typical of this type of restaurant. What was in that yummy yummy sauce ? because it was anything but The service was ok. Nothing spectacular. We had a reservation and were waiting for 2 people so they said they would not seat us until they got there. But then sat us 5 mins later. Once we got to the table we were told to stay to one end so they could fit 2 people with us. Which normally I wouldn't mind it's part of the ambiance. But we had 8 people at a 10 person table - 2 in wheelchairs and a blind person with a service dog. Not really room to fit 2 more people. We ordered. Everything was delivered in a timely manner. I did feel a little rushed since we did get a sushi appetizer. I had to wait to order a 2nd drink. The chef did a great job cooking but was not a very good showman. 1 person asked for no onion... how about the rest of us? The onion may have helped with the lack luster flavor. We eat Japanese and/or sushi once a week and knew what to expect. They didn't' even come close to our expectations. I will be holding out till I get home for my Japanese next time.

Service = AWESOME Food = YUMMY nom nom nom after the food digests = ow, break your meal into portions and save the rest for leftovers, I'm guessing it may be the high sodium content Nice place for every once in a while, but not the healthiest thing for your body Celebrated my nephew's 18th birthday here, overall he made a good choice.

I came here to celebrate my birthday with friends and family! It was great! Everyone loved the food and the sushi was spectacular! The chef was pretty funny but a bit lackluster as compared to chefs at other tables. Overall, it was a great experience and I will be returning (especially to the sushi bar)! Our only complaint was the drink service. There was at least 20 minutes that went by when our drinks were empty and the waiter came around to refill them. We asked him to refill my Dad's wine glass at least 3 times before he actually refilled it. But overall, the restaurant was great!

I took my daughter to Tsunami for the first time. You can either sit at the Tepanyaki tables (10 to a table where the chef puts on a show while he cooks in front of you) or some other small tables. We went to the Tepanyaki table. The chef did a decent job of putting on a show (I have seen much better), but he interacted with the diners quite well. The food was good -- pretty much what I have come to expect at a good quality Tepanyaki place -- I had the Shrimp and Chicken combo while my daughter had just Chicken. The price was a bit high, but you should expect to pay for the show part of the experience -- I thought the price was in line with most of these kind of places. Our cost was over $50 for two, no alcohol or dessert. There was nothing that made Tsunami stand out, but I have been to similar places several times over the years. On the other hand, there were no bad surprises, either. (One place just up the road was getting pretty worn out before it recently closed.) Food was good, service was decent. I will probably go back, but not very often due to the cost. These kinds of places often have coupons with good discounts, and that would make me more likely to go back. I think they have some lunch specials, so I may try those sometime.

The food is great. Drinks are decent. They also have very good drink specials. I typically have wonderful service, so I brought 17 of my friends here for my birthday. We were given two large tables close to each other, with two waitresses. One waitress was awesome, the other was not. They also only gave us one chef for two tables, so 9 of us ate 30 minutes before the rest of us. We were there forever! Ultimately, great place with awesome food. Don't try to go with too many people though, because they will stick you in a corner and expect you to be patient. (We had reservations)

Have only experienced the sushi at the bar (about half a dozen times). Always been treated extremely well by the bartender and the sushi chefs know what they're doing here. Excellent!

  • Ed N.

Pretty good Hibachi. Now that Arigatos is closed this place is next in line in the Tyrone area. I would recommend the lunch as its only 11.00 for the same meal as you get for dinner at half the price.

  • Kate T.

This restraunt has a tremendous amount of potential to be great. Unfortunately, the level and quality of service and food have slowly dragged it from a solid 4-5 stars to a 2 in my opinion. They have a free birthday dinner for you on your special day with a Florida Drivers license, and always 2-4-1 drinks. That being said, the bartender pours like a miser, and the food is way more expensive for anyone else in your party. The hostess WILL NOT seat you until all members of your party are there. Good luck on everyone being there on time and parked too -- the lot is way to small to support the business. Chefs can be hit or miss on performance. They use a lot of soy and soy products - so be wary if it bothers you.

    (2)
  • Tiffany D.

Good was fantastic. We got the hibachi dinner and a sushi roll for an app. Great food and great service. I have been to a lot of Japanese steakhouses and this is by far the best hands down.

Do not eat here if you are gluten intolerant- it is not the right choice for you! As most of us who have celiac disease or severe gluten intolerances know, hibachi is usually not a safe bet because of the soy sauce. I have been to some hibachi restaurants that have understood gluten intolerance and have made me a great gluten free meal. Tsunami, however, is not one of them. I called ahead of time to see if they would be able to make anything gluten free or if I should just eat something beforehand (was going there for a birthday party). The girl who answered the phone said sure they could make me plain rice instead of fried (okay) and just cook everything without the butter and oil (hmmm....made me wonder if she just thought gluten free meant "healthy"). I told her the real issue would be the soy sauce and would it be possible to cook my food in the back without soy sauce and she said yes. At the restaurant, I ordered the food this way and the waitress seemed to understand. When the food came out, it seemed alright, but I was a little concerned they hadn't completely understood because the vegetables in particular tasted and looked like they had been cooked in soy sauce. I am not completely sure what happened in the kitchen but I know this- the meal was not even close to being gluten free. I became severely sick later that night and ended up in the emergency room because of the abdominal pain and burning skin (the abdominal pain was so severe I was worried I had appendicitis, stomach flu, or food poisoning- rapidflu ruled out flu, doctors said no appendicitis and once DH symptoms set in it was for sure gluten). If you are gluten free, just pass on Tsunami. If you're craving hibachi, take the hour drive to Disney and go to the hibachi place at Epcot where they understand gluten intolerance and take it very seriously. There you can have a delicious and safe gluten free hibachi experience.

The service was great here. The food quality was def. below average. Everything from the hibachi tasted the same. Chicken tastes like carrots, just like the onion. The sushi menu looks amazing, too bad the flavor did not live up to it. It was not bad, but it was not worth the price we paid. Bottom line, we will not be returning and would not reccomend it. Great service but below average food. Wish I could say better.

I normally would not go for Hibachi. I always think that Hibachi is just overpriced, has the same entertainment you would get enough of seeing once and the food is just so mediocre. My family in law visiting us loves Hibachi so I found this place on Yelp...seemed a little better than Arigato. The interior is super cute and neat. Love it!! The wait was bit too long from getting seated till getting food served by Hibachi chef. But everyone was attentive and nice....They can work on the long wait part. The food was actually much better than expected. They make the fried rice and saute the vegetable really good. I just loved the rice and vegetable!! The noodle was bit dissapointing....rather bland. But the quality of their seafood and meat was not bad. I did not get to try their sushi because it was just too much food but next time I will.

Best sushi bar in St. Pete. Don't believe the undeserved hype of all those other sushi places in the area (I'm looking at you Hooks and Sushi Rock), Tsunami Japanese Steakhouse I the place to go for amazing sushi. The restaurant is probably more well know for their hibachi tables and cuisine, however I also grab a seat up at the sushi bar for my favorite seat in the house. You can watch first hand each and every roll that is ordered, and the staff is quite friendly and entertaining. Highly recommended.

Came here expecting way better. All we got was simple miso and sushi, but none of it was very good. The miso, the easy part, was too salty and disgustingly fishy. Couldn't even finish. The sushi was okay at best, with ginger that was so chewy you couldn't even swallow it. Needless to say we won't be heading back ever again.

This place is like a ghetto Arigatos. It is a much more laid back feel and slightly cheaper prices. All of the Teppanyaki grills are clustered together almost on top of each other. If you prefer you can sit at a booth instead and order the same food. We figured that we might as well get a show with our meal. Unfortunately our Teppanyaki chef was obviously brand new and nervous. While he was still impressive; we were jealous of the table right in front of us that had an obviously awesome (and way longer) performance. The food was very good. We ordered a sushi roll to split and it was fresh and delicious. Our chicken, steak and scallops were also fresh and had excellent flavor. The meal comes with veggies, fried rice, noodles and 2 grilled shrimp. It was a lot of food and I took half of mine home for later. Back to the ghetto part...as we were finishing our food, a "bus boy" came out in a wife-beater that was 2 sizes too small for him. Wow. The restaurant was getting ready to close and cleaning down their grills...but what about a dress code? Then, our Teppanyaki Chef came out without his hat to clean another chefs grill. This just confirmed that he was the low man on the totem pole. Despite the ghetto aspect, the food was very good. The service was good. We had a good time. Prices were decent. We will be back.

Good was fantastic. We got the hibachi dinner and a sushi roll for an app. Great food and great service. I have been to a lot of Japanese steakhouses and this is by far the best hands down.

Excellent!

Pretty good Hibachi. Now that Arigatos is closed this place is next in line in the Tyrone area. I would recommend the lunch as its only 11.00 for the same meal as you get for dinner at half the price.

I like the Hibachi show here, the cooks are always funny with the Yummy Yummy sauce and Goody Goody sauce. The fried rice is my favorite and I always get chicken while my son gets steak, then I eat half of his! Usually plenty to take home, too.

I've only been for lunch and sat at the bar area. They have a good lunch special. They offer teppanyaki style table cooking for groups or you get paired with other folks. Menu is varied from sushi and tempura to miso soup, salad and entree's. Full bar is available. Enjoy!

You will get caught up in the whirlwind of various tepenyaki foods, some may say a tsunami of epic proportions worth of food.

I am a huge fan of Teppanyaki style restaurants. I love combining a little show with great food cooked in front of you. I had never been to Tsunami, but some friends suggested it, so we decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is clean, well kept, and the wait staff appeared to be well trained. Parking was a bit of an issue, as there are only maybe 15-20 spots directly in front of the restaurant, but there is a large parking lot for Home Depot near by, so it was not incredibly inconvenient. As far as the food goes, you have your standards with chicken, steak, and different seafoods. I went for a combination of chicken and scallops. You start with soup and a salad, and both were excellent. With your actual meal you get fried rice, noodles, shrimp, and vegetables. You get large quantities of both, and I have to say, getting the shrimp was nice, as most restaurants of this style do no serve shrimp with their meals. The chicken was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. My biggest surprise was the scallops, which they actually cooked on the table with mushrooms. It added a little kick to the meal, and it was great that they did not just serve you plain scallops. The chef was great and even had a few tricks that I had not seen any of the chefs I have had at different restaurants do. He still had the standard volcano and shrimp in hat catch, which the kids always love, but he threw in a few extra treats too. Over all, I really loved the restaurant and will be coming back for sure.

This place rocks. The food is top notch and their chefs are very enthusiastic and very entertaining. They put on quite a show. There were no shortage of laughs at our table. Their prices are pretty reasonable considering the show you get with your dinner. Portions are huge and always have food to take home. Their sauces don't quite compare to Arigatos but that's ok. Their restaurant is much trendier and roomier than Arigatos. Great atmosphere. I'll be going back.

We met some friends here the other night for dinner. At Tsunami, guests have the option of being sat in a booth or at the large teppanyaki tables for dinner and a show. There is no price difference. We opted for the show. It was Friday around 730pm and we waited about half an hour. For those not in the know, Tsunami will not sit guests at the teppanyaki tables until there are 10 people to be seated. Our server (aka drink taker) had a trainee and seemed sort of on-guard and frazzled. My husband ordered a 2-4-1 vodka and pineapple and she kept pushing the more expensive vokda on him when he kept saying well. Very annoying. I ordered a sake cocktail with pear that was delicious and packed a punch. All the meals at Tsunami come with a clear broth soup (delicious and light with mushrooms, scallions, and fried onions), a ginger salad (ok,not great), fried rice (yummy), fried noodles (delicious), 2 shrimp (an odd appetizer but very tasty), and veggies. For my protein I had steak and scallops for $26 and they were delicious. You get a decent amount of scallops for the higher price tag, which was good. My steak was cooked the way I asked and everything was seasoned well. the two sauces, a white sauce and a brown, tangy sauce, both complemented the food. Our chef was very talented and very engaging. He did a good job with all the tricks and added a few I've never seen at other, similar restaurants. This is definitely a celebration place and not really good for a casual dinner. Due to the noise, we had a hard time talking to our friends. The higher price tag will also deter us from coming often but next time we have a large group for a birthday or graduation, this would be a great place to come.

Disappointing. I came to visit from California... The los Angeles area has a lot of good food so compared to other places this place is pretty bad if you want to consider having the sushi at the sushi bar here. Omg. Definitely plan on NOT having sushi. California roll is fine, its kind of hard to mess up on imitation crab and avocado. The tuna and salmon I had... It was so fishy and left the fish taste in my mouth ALL day... The only good thing here was the Teppanyaki. It comes with veggies and fried rice and a good amount for the lunch specials. For the price I am paying here I would pass and go somewhere else though.

Over an hour wait for our party, we had made "reservations", which really don't mean anything as they don't reserve your table until you arrive and then they wait until almost enough space is available for your party to then seat you. We had an 18 month old with us, he eats at the table at restaurants, when that sat us they already had a family on one side of the table and stuck his high chair on the edge corner. We couldn't pull him closer than a foot away from the table and the hostess refused to allow us to move it so he could eat. We left before even putting in our food order as hungry as we were.

Tsunami was my first ever hibachi experience a few months ago and I've been back two more times since then. This is a great place for a date or to go with a group of friends. The chefs are funny and talented. Service is great and the food is awesome. Lots and lots of food...they automatically bring out to go boxes because rarely does someone finish their plate! The meats and rice have addictive seasoning on them and the yum yum sauce is just that...yum! They also have good sushi (always tastes fresh) and a great selection of sake and other drinks. Love this place and will continue to visit!

The worst dining experience I have ever had. The food quality, staff and service were terrible. Stay Away! The chef was unsanitary, inattentive and rude. In between dropping food in the garbage then serving it, he made inappropriate sexual comments about the waitresses/female patrons. It was very uncomfortable. The waiter was inattentive and got 4/6 orders wrong. The manager had no idea what she was doing. Several others already had complained to her. There was a fight at the table behind us. The manager watched a drunk guy about my age bully and scream at a family out for dinner. Both patrons remained and were continued to be served alcohol. The drunken patron spilled several drinks and feel on the way to the restroom. The rice was undercooked and I left after being severed the wrong order for the 4th time, that was dragged through the garbage slot. I could not be paid to go back. Avoid at all cost!!! Stay away! It's a shame that they closed Arriagatos, but this place is awful. Next time we will try eido's.

One fish, two fish. Raw fish, cooked fish. We walked in for dinner and they asked us to wait. We asked "for how long?" they stared with a blank on their face. Habachi tables were open and plenty the booths are not. So the wait for a table could be a long shot. Patiently we wait for the an answer or a guess Then they shoot out 20 minutes at best. 25 minutes later we are called up to eat. The initial experience already spells defeat. Service at the table was friendly and kind The food was ok not the best that I've had Fried banana dessert however, did blow my mind. Not sure I'd come back based on the wait. The food was lackluster in the department of taste.

You can get 2 for 1 drinks all day long, including saki. I fell in love. Favorite items to get, edemame, fried rice with sirloin and Mt. Fuji. The prices can not be beat and the quality has not suffered because of it. Service its also great.

Service: GOOD Food: OKAY Enviroment: WONDERFUL and CLEAN Special Comment: The teppanyaki grill show was HORRIBLE! It might have been our chef, but he came out clanking and spinning his spatula for only about 3 minutes and that was it... NO food play, NO fire, and no pillow for me to sleep trough the show =^(

Hit or miss some nights. I frequent this place because its convent with alright sushi. the hibachi table are a lot of fun if you have a big group with you. Don't go on tuesday nights if your not a fan of little ones. Kids eat free and its packed and noisy.

This place has good sushi; not great sushi, but good sushi. It's convenient for me, so three of us went here and tried the sushi. The place has a decent atmosphere, decent miso soup, decent ginger salad, decent wakami salad, and decent sushi for decent prices. I guess that's the theme here - decent. Nothing outstanding, but not bad.

Good food. Not as busy as the other Japanese steakhouses. Worth stopping by. My first time there and had a nice lunch with my family. Ordered traditonal hybatchi grill food and a sushi roll. I've had better but not bad, not bad at all. Next time we will try something a little more signature to this restaurant!

As I had a Saturday night without companionship - I chose to order to go. So there was no show to go with the hibachi grilled meal, but the food was fabulous. Salad was crisp, dressing was fresh, miso tasty and chix, shrimp & steak was delish. I'll be back again, next time to take in the show...

I love this restaurant, it may look like an American Steakhouse on the outside but the inside has a cool ambient design. The food is great too. I've had both sushi and their Hibachi food, and it's all great. The prices are reasonable too for the amount of food you get and the quality. I definitely recommend Tsunami Japanese Steakhouse to those who are a fan of Hibachi cooking or Sushi.

I was down at the beach and tried them out. The food was really good, and the service was great. I had the chicken and shrimp and my wife got just chicken and they were both awesome. They give you lots of food, and it was all really good. The prices were similar to all other habachi places I have been, but they even did a hot towel before the meal which was a nice touch, though not really needed. I told my brother to try the place as he works close, so I will go again if I am in town.

This was my first time here. I posted pictures of everything that I had. The hibachi was good but the rolls were just okay, nothing special. We had 2 hibachis (scallop and shrimp) and the steak one. We also ordered 3 rolls - volcano and 2 others (can't remember the names).

Hostesses at the door were not overly friendly upon arrival, so not a great first impression. Our chef and waitress were kind, humorous in presentation (as you would expect in Hibachi style) and food was fresh and abundant. Lots of leftovers. We will return.

I can't believe Amy B. complaining in this section. She has a picture of a beautiful birthday plate made by this restaurant, she posts it here, then says horrible things about the place. What a beeach.

Good was fantastic. We got the hibachi dinner and a sushi roll for an app. Great food and great service. I have been to a lot of Japanese steakhouses and this is by far the best hands down.

Excellent!

Pretty good Hibachi. Now that Arigatos is closed this place is next in line in the Tyrone area. I would recommend the lunch as its only 11.00 for the same meal as you get for dinner at half the price.
